My answer to Is Theresa May going to survive until the end of the day?
Answer by Desmond Last:
Theresa May has decided to redefine democracy. The U.K’s political and economic future is now going to be decided by 10 DUP MP’s who were not voted into power by the people of England, Scotland or Wales.
The DUP have their own Parliament. Why then are they now going to take a more prominent role in U.K Politics without the consent of the people of the United Kingdom?
Theresa May made no mention during the election that should the election result in a reduced majority a Government would be formed with the DUP.
I doubt if the electorate who the DUP represent want their focus to be on non-Ireland matters. Sinn Fein is not going to be too happy about and this is at a time when Northern Ireland needs unity not more division.
Theresa May has not answered the question that she herself asked the People of the U.K. Where is her reinforced mandate for Brexit and the other changes she wants to implement?
What was the point of the election if nothing is going to change?
The U.K Government has to chart the course for the U.K economy through some very turbulent waters.
It has to have the support of the whole country to do so. That means a democratic election result.
Instead we are now to have a Government which is not representative of the politics of the country.
What is needed now is a new Conservative Party Leader and another election.
