Can I turbocharge my Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500? If yes, any contacts?

My answer to Can I turbocharge my Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500? If yes, any contacts?

Answer by Desmond Last:

Yes it is possible but for road use probably not desirable. If you increase the Power Output of the engine with Turbocharging you will need to ensure the brakes are able to stop you during the increased rate of acceleration.

You will also need to ensure the oil supply to the bearings of the turbocharger is capable of providing the oil required for the high rpm the turbocharges operate at.

The crankshaft pin and main-bearing may also have to be increased in diameter to take the extra load.

If the Royal Enfield is still under warranty unless you have the manufactures approval in writing then the warranty will be invalid.
