How can I earn for a living if I want to become a philosopher?

My answer to How can I earn for a living if I want to become a philosopher?

Answer by Desmond Last:

I did not know that you could become a Philosopher by somebody teaching you to be one. To be taught Philosophy is to take the thought of another.

I also did not think that a Philosopher would consider money to be the reward for their work.

For the theories of systems that they can apply from the application of their Philosophy, then yes payment is due.

But the joy of creating a new way of understanding is surely payment enough.

I am a Philosopher and my thought is original. It is intended to bring life to those who do not have the understanding to allow their own unleashed imagination to prosper, and to open new ways of understanding and living our lives. To enable a context to be applied to our existence.

How can you teach Philosophy? Certainly you can explain the Philosophy of others.

A Philosophy is unique. It cannot be mirrored. It cannot be altered.

My new Economic Theory begins with part of the Philosophy I have developed. I ask what value is given to your Soul and Spirit in your Economy? Are you just a digit on a payslip or are you part of an evolving dynamic.?

If you are part of one of the U.K’s zero hours contracts then your Soul and Spirit is crushed. You have no identity. You are reduced to a digit.

Explanation. In the U.K a zero hours contract means you sit at home waiting to be called to work – it could be for only 4 hours work. One million people in the U.K are on zero hours contracts.

Zero-hour contract

If you want to earn a living as a Philosopher no doubt there are many Ethics Jobs you can apply for. But that is not being a Philosopher. To be a Philosopher you must first develop a unique Philosophy. From that you can develop Theory and then its application.
